Some update

Haven't write something here for sometime. Not that nothing to update, but just some 'tiny' accident that stop me from writing myself here.

Anyway, some update here...

Went to Chiayi city , Taiwan last December with the Mahidol Jazz Big Band. Were there for a few concerts, and also for the new year eve live TV broadcast show. That's the first time I been at a place that's 9C. Very cool, but nice! Nice people, nice little small town, NICE breakfast, and also some nice beer. haha. For those interested, you can check out my facebook for some pictures.

Mahidol did the 2nd Jean-Marie Londeix Saxophone Competition. I was in the organizing committee. Glad to meet William Street, Keiji Munesada and John Sampen again. And of course, feel extremely happy to be able to work with Jean-Marie, and also get to know Daniel Gauthier little bit more (we are in the international saxophone committee together, he is the only saxophonist in Germany that hold the professorship now, fantastic player!) Got the chance to be in the competition hall for the whole event, listen to MANY MANY times of Bach's transcription, Lauba's music, as well as some standard and modern saxophone repertoire. Make it short, I learn a lot by just listened to them. And it was great to chat with Bill and John Sampen all the time during the break in between the competition.

Then, I went back to KL for CNY. Haven't been back for 2 year for new year, was so happy to do so. The atmosphere is different, grandmum is no more there, but still great to have everybody back for some meal and drinking. ha! (Check out my facebook for pictures of the food!) Also was busy cleaning up my room, clear the drawer of my table, so that my sis has more space to use. And also a surprise gathering, got to meet up with some high school friends, which some I never meet for few years. Long lunch and coffee with them, and also some card playing... (not is a good fortune though. ha!)

After like 2 weeks no practise (due to Londeix competition), I was needed to brush up my skills again for a recital on last Saturday. Not very hard piece, just some fast articulation and a few VERY HIGH notes (D and E on alto, and C on the sop) The recital went on well, nice playing and working together with Mimi, and also to play with Phil, Wannapah and Mimi for a piece by Brian. It was nice to work with them, nice attitude but yet fun rehearsal time. ha

What's next?

I will be organizing the 1st Thailand International Piano Competition this coming March. Now we are at the last stage of the preparation. Thanks to P.Joy and Nour for their help. Should be fine.

On the last day of the Piano competition, Londeix will arrive in Bangkok and start doing the Saxophone Summer camp. I will not work as the staff for this, but will participate as a musician. Before Londeix took off 3 weeks ago, he said he wants to listen to me while he is here for summer camp. I'm suprised, and happy to do so! No matter how busy I'm for the piano competition, I will still find time to practise little bit! ha!

Then the Mahidol Quartet will be flying to US for the NASA conference. Is confirm we are going, and play on the 18th april, doing the piece by Brian Mills and another piece from the previous composition competition. It will be very exciting program. ha!
