Exciting, and ???

Part I, Exciting:

If you ever have the chance to bring a band that you had been admire for so long, to the place you stay, will you do it?

I'm really exciting when someone offer me the chance, whether i want to get the TOKWO to KL. But, the problem is...MONEY!!! One band, 5 days, 1 million ringgit.

Tell me, band gig, shall we bring TOKWO here?

ps: for those who don't know what is TOKWO, check this out: http://www.tkwo.jp/

Part II: ???

Thought you will not tell me when you depart, but never expect it can be that fast.

Anyway, take good care, JM!

Religious...??!!!

Is just funny that... why thai like to ask, "Are you buddhist?" Yes, i'm. Then the answer will always be, "Really? Why you never pray?"

Eh? Why? If i don't pray, means i'm not Buddhist?

My housemate invite a monk to our house today, for some praying session. They asked me to join in, but i reject it, because i never practise it that way. Ha, then the question come again, "Are you buddhist?"

Was so so so annoyed with that question. I'm, for sure, but i just never practise the way thai do. Or if really want to go into more serious saying, thai's buddhist and chinese's buddhist is very different. Of couse it share the same idea, but different way to practise.

And, please, if you claim that i'm not a buddhist, then think of what you did for the past. Dont just put the Buddhist in your mouth when you are at temple or when there is a monk there!

Koh Samet

Samet

Sunset
Beach, waiting for the boat

The 'Gang'

'Monkeys' jumping?

Koh ...dont know what

The 'Gang' having dinner

First day:

Wait at the 7-Eleven, opposite Mahidol University at 8:30am. But as usual, we took off from Salaya late, around 10am. Went to Ekkamai station (Eastern bus station), met up with the rest, then went on the 11am bus to Ban Phe. It took around 4 hours to reach, and we had our lunch around 3pm. Then got some drinks, and got on the boat to Koh (koh means island) Samet.

The boat we were on was broken halfway, so gotta changed to another boat.... but still manged to reach Koh Samet. But then our rooms is like half an hour walk. So, gotta walked all the way there.... but then, the beach we stayed was really good! Not the beautiful beach, is just it was really away from the town, away from busy crowd. Wow

DIdnt do much, unpack a bit, and we straight jumped into the water! And had our dinner at the place we stay, dinner on the jeti. And, PARTY!!! Start to talk more, eat, drink...games... till 2am.

Second day:

Woke up 6am. Managed to walk a bit, took some pictures, and hunt for some small crabs. Then went on for our trip, which already schedule with the travel agent before hand.

Went on to a boat, brought us to another island for 'snorkling practising', and had our BBQ lunch there. Then proceed to the real place for the coral seeing. Wow...clear water, nice weather, not too hot, and SOME nice coral. Too bad that only some, coz the place is slightly poluted. But then, it was a nice swim. And we were dropped at another island, which we took the picture of the 'gang' at don't know what Koh.

Reached the place we stay at 6. Was already too tired... shower, and proceed for dinner. Nice food, as usual at thailand... Then another party going on! Start drinking at 10pm...till...4am? Some went to bed at 1pm, is only me, and some stay up till 4am. And we were actually forced to back to the room, coz is started to rain. And it went out heavily... Until 7am... when i woke up.

Third day:

Got up early again, catched a nice breakfast, and proceed to catch up the boat. Back to mainland around 1:30pm, lunch and then catch on the 3pm bus to BKK.

It was already heavy rain when we reach BKK. Got down from Ekkamai, change BTS (Bangkok Train System) to Victory Monument (the place to take another bus back to Salaya, the place we stay) Had our dinner near Victory Monument, the superb delicious 'Kuey Chap' (noodles with pork). And since was raining, we had dinner under the railway track...hahaha, what a funny scene.

Then catch the 515 bus to Salaya, still heavy rain. Ae (one of the gang) needed a toilet, urgently, after 15 minutes in the bus. But still long way to go before we reach Salaya. No choice, gottat get down halfway, with our bag, run in the heavy rain, to a hospital, for the toilet. Haha, the people there was showing some funny face as we run in. Who cares! Toilet!!!

Finally got home at 10pm... hoo

Nice trip? Sure!

Enjoy? A lot!

How's the feeling? Feel young!

Sax's week!

Saxophone Composition Competition, proposal writing, masterclass, clinics, discussion, survey on hotel, restaurant...

Basically these are the things i did for the pass week. Everything is concern about the saxophone, here at thailand.

Of course, it is a great pleasure to have the 3 saxophone professors here at thailand to do all these works together. Haha, imagine, peoples from different generation worked together, with the age range from 72, 62, 56, 30+ and me 26... hahaha.

But it ended we having fun a lot. Not to mentioned all the 'free' meal and coffee, me personally learned a lot from them. The philosophy of teaching, playing, as a musician, ensemble player, or even as an individual person.

Haha, also to mentioned... now i have the whole set of Eugene Rousseau's recording!!! He is so generously enough to give me all of his CDs. Thanks, maestro!!!! And also thanks to Roger Greenberg, and Bill!!!

Wow!!! I met Eugene Rosseau, William Street and Roger Greenberg!

Finally i have the chance to meet with them!!!

I just can't imagine it when i met them at the airport! And now even got the chance to hang around with them, work with them for the conference proposal, and even to play the saxophone for them!!!
